NeedleDock is a dedicated safe needle disposal system, which has been developed in conjunction with healthcare workers. The system addresses the 87% of sharps injuries caused by needles and provides greater levels of safety to workers through a better disposal method.
A significant benefit to NeedleDock is financial as the system focuses only on the needle, enabling cost savings when compared to sharps bins. Alongside improved space utilisation and reduced incineration costs, employers will also need fewer NeedleDocks compared to similar sized sharps bins.
NeedleDock is a simple spring-based mechanism incorporated into a closed container. After patient injection, the clinician ‘docks’ the needle and it can be safely removed. This prevents the need for any further handling or secondary disposal and eliminates the risk involved with open sharps bins. It is also not possible to dispose of non-sharp clinical or general waste using NeedleDock.
The NeedleDock system is a ground-breaking solution to address potential needle stick injuries. Our aim is to introduce simple ideas to protect healthcare workers and patients while providing a cost-saving reassurance to employers. Granted Patents and Design Registrations are also in place, recognising our ongoing commitment to innovation.
