We are a Start-up company based in Bury Saint Edmunds, UK.
NeedleDock addresses the avoidable injuries sustained every year because of discarded needles. The impact of receiving a needle stick injury can be life changing. You can learn about it on our website and by reading the many reports we reference.
It began life as a project for Howser Technology, a company specialising the development of products and taking them to market. Ady Nunn invented the system to stop the risk of needle stick injuries at source. NeedleDock’s success is down to its simplicity and ease of use.
We identified that needles are the largest contributing factor for sharps injuries (87%). Despite this, disposal takes place in containers that can also receive non-sharp waste. This is uneconomic and disguises the risk caused by needles.
Unlike most Sharps Bins, NeedleDock is a closed system. It’s safe to carry NeedleDock to the point of use as it won’t spill needles and you can’t put your hand inside. Once a needle is “docked” – The risk is eliminated. With open Sharps Bins, the risk remains.
The remaining plastic syringe is non-sharp clinical bagged waste. A far more cost effective way to dispose of non-sharps than using a sharps bin.
User feedback is critical to the development of our products. Healthcare workers and ergonomics experts have played their part to shape NeedleDock. Single-handed use, works in and out of the stand and safe to transport during use. NeedleDock offers optimised handling and enhanced user safety.
Our aim at NeedleDock is to continue innovating to support our healthcare workers. By introducing appropriate innovation to meet specific needs, we can help improve lives. Please get in touch to learn more about our products and follow us on social media.
